FIGURES/PATCH

FIGURES/PATCH

“Figures” are “circular patterns which skaters trace on the ice to demonstrate skill in placing clean turns evenly on round circles.” The ice is reserved to those who need a portion of the ice which is called a “patch” this is where skaters can trace their figure(s).

Skater may reference the sessions as “Figures” or “Patch” the wording can be interchangeable but ultimately means the same thing when referencing the name of the session.

This is NOT a freestyle nor should anyone be freestyle skating. The session is only reserved for skaters who are participating in figures.

If skaters participate in the session it is considered rude to skate on someone else’s “Patch”, skaters must stay next to the boards when entering/exiting the ice.
